Our Instructors

Scott Miner, Owner

Originally a scholarship tennis player at UNC-Charlotte, Scott started taking ballet classes in college and soon turned professional. After a 15-year dance career, Scott started training in Pilates and has since become the owner of The Loft. He is an elite cyclist as a member of the Charleston Bicycle Team and races competitively. Scott is trained through Core Dynamics at their Pilates Miami location.

Maryellen Gibson

A native Charlestonian, Maryellen is a registered nurse with over 20 years experience in health and fitness. A longtime Pilates devotee, she received her certification in 2002 from Colleen Glenn, educational director with Peak Pilates System. Maryellen also recently completed the yoga teacher training course at Holy Cow Yoga Center in Charleston, SC.


Marie Delcioppo

Marie returns to Charleston after receiving her BS in Journalism and Communication from the University of Florida and spending seven years in Miami, FL developing a career in public relations and fitness. She became a group fitness instructor and personal trainer while completing her Pilates teacher-training program. Marie is certified through Colleen Glenn of Peak Pilates System in Boulder, CO and Michele Larsson of Core Dynamics in Sante Fe, NM. Her expertise in fitness has granted her numerous national and local media appearances.


Shannon Robbins

A gifted ballerina, Shannon left her hometown in Virginia at age 13 to persue classical ballet. She graduated from North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem and went on to join The Atlanta Ballet Company. She further persued her career at Eugene Ballet in Oregon, then retired after spending several years with Charleston Ballet Theatre. She received her Pilates Certification in 2004 from Karen Sanzo in Dallas, TX. While both dancing at Charleston Ballet, Shannon and Scott Miner met and decided to make a home in Charleston. They now enjoy the blessing of a baby boy, Jacob.


Ann Savage

Ann completed her Pilates teacher-training with Karen Sanzo from Pilates Unlimited. Ann was immediately drawn to Pilates after spending 15 years as a physical therapy assistant, with a special interest in the neurological connection to physical movement. Clients enjoy Ann's holistic approach by increasing quality of life through quality of body. In her spare time, Ann loves to garden, cook, and spend time with her daughter. She also has a key interest in neurological disorders and women's health issues.
